Setup & Mulligan

  • Each main deck is 50 cards.
  • Tier limits how many copies of a single card you can run:
    • Legendary: 1x
    • Primary: 2x
    • Secondary: 3x
  • You may also bring an archive (a separate token deck of 1–50 tokens) for cards that create tokens during play.

Tip: DBS (Deck Balance Score) is used for matchmaking — but it’s optional in casual play. See 303.2 DBS and Deckbuilding for the details.

  • Flip a coin. The winner picks who plays first.
  • The player going second chooses whether realm 1 starts on their left or right.

Each player shuffles, then draws 7 cards.

  • You may set up to 3 cards from your hand on the bottom of your deck (in any order), then draw that many.
  • The first player mulligans first.
